A quirky sitcom that ran from 1992 to 1995, HEARTS AFIRE centers on married couple Georgie Ann and John Hartman (Markie Post and the always-endearing John Ritter). The show`s second season--all 16 episodes of which are collected here--finds them leaving politics and city life behind to move to an offbeat small town, where they take over the defunct local paper. Much of the show`s spark comes from their interaction with the dynamic supporting cast, which includes Billy Bob Thornton, Conchata Ferrell, and Leslie Jordan.
